While we still see a lot of benefit for clients to utilize an on premise solution for their CRM needs, there are some compelling reasons that more and more companies could benefit from a cloud-based CRM solution, including

• Hassle-free installation
• Seamless access
• Ease of use
• Affordability
• Security
• Reliability
• Flexibility
• Compatibility

Amazon and Salesforce have traditionally been strong leaders in this market segment; however, software giant Oracle’s recent performance seems to be signaling a growing demand for their cloud-based products. Oracle has now reported three straight quarters of revenue gains and profits that exceeded analyst expectations which is an especially remarkable turnaround in light of the fact that the preceding four quarters had shown nothing but steady declines. So what’s the reason for the upward inflection in business?

For one, Oracle has been adding a variety of products and services which offer computing and storage power from remote sites. Additionally, Oracle’s new infrastructure offering is positioned in direct competition with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and is expected to grow into the company’s largest cloud business unit.

“We are now in position to help our hundreds of thousands of database customers move millions of Oracle databases to our infrastructure-as-a-service cloud,” according to Executive Chairman Larry Ellison. And last, but certainly not least, Oracle recently acquired NetSuite Inc., one of the largest providers of cloud-based financial services. This move helps position Oracle as a market leader in providing comprehensive cloud-based business solutions.
